A few post-District thoughts aside from the awesome Bellevue East/Burke moment that has over 135,000 views on Twitter after just 8 hours...

Big things happening today at Districts. Carson Noecker of Hartington Newcastle ran a 14:58 at Pierce, described as 'legit and flat' by the Battle Creek coach. He's the first under 15:00 since Seth Hirsch.

At the Massacre at the Mount (Michael), Class B #2, #3, #4 and #5 girls teams faced off for three spots. Despite 3 medalists, Duchesne was 4th with 45 points. Elkhorn North won with 26, Blair 2nd with 32, and Bennington 3rd with 37.

Keeli Green of Arlington set a 19-second PR at a difficult Fort Atkinson course, running a 18:28 to win by 1:35.

Lincoln Christian, led by Sadye Daniell's 2nd place finish, placed 5 runners in the top 8 at District C-2 to score just 16 points.

Norris won the B-3 District with just 13 points, going 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and led by freshman Kendall Zavala.

Class D #1 Jordyn Arens of Crofton had the fastest Class D time at Districts, winning D-2 in 19:02. At D-4, Alayna Vargas of Hastings SC won in 19:41 with Class D #2 Hannah Swanson of Nebraska Christian 2nd in 20:18.

The Skutt boys not only had a perfect score in District B-1, but their six boys also captured the top 6 spots with times between 16:50 and 17:11. McCoy Haussler led the team. Their showdown with Lexington next week should be amazing.

Class D #1 Ty Schlueter of Ainsworth won D-3 in 16:45 while #3 Grant Lander won D-2 in 16:50. D #2 Trevor Kuncl of Mullen lost at D-6 to Damon Luedke of Paxton by three hundreths of a second.

Class B defending champ, Madison Seiler of Gering, who broke her foot on July 1st, faced off against B #1 Samantha Rodewald of McCook, with Seiler pulling away in the last 200 meters. Expect a great rematch next week.
